Sleeping Bear Inn

Smell the Pancakes........real maple syrup, cherry cobbler, breathe deeply, slow down, take off your shoes, feel the sand between your toes, and listen to the sounds of celebration. Celebrations of life, of love, and our achievements. Spot a Petoskey Stone... examine it, and throw it back. Make a very leisurely trip to the bookstore, buy one too many. Take the boat out. Set up your tent. Ride your bike. Hang up the car keys. Break bread with friends. We are all connected in this experience. Nap on the beach. Introduce yourself to 3 locals. Have tator tots for dinner, Smell the campfires. Visit the vineyards. Take in the sunset. Prepare your lanterns. Get the blanket. Stargaze. Fall in love. Make new friends. Dream Big, Go to the farm. Embrace your memories. Say "I do". Support it. Seek it. Build a fire in the sand. Don the guitar. Sing it out loud. Watch the sunrise in splendid silence. I think that Michigan can agree, some things are worth saving......... ... See MoreSee Less

Sleeping Bear Inn

Do you have a fond memory of Glen Haven? The Sleeping Bear Inn? Please post fond memories of being at the Inn and how it made you feel when you were there....

Pictured here c. 1900 several of the workmen and women that worked with my great grandfather DH Day posing for a photograph. I love to see the open porch, and then I am so glad Grandpa Day closed in the porch, and converted the fireplaces to be double sided. I can so easily vision a trio in the corner and a view that just takes your breathe away. Tell us your story.
